CHAS Fellows Tamara Konetzka and Prachi Sanghavi were each awarded NIH funding for their projects associated with the Medicaid Working Group. Funded through the National Institute on Aging (NIA), Dr. Konetzka’s project will examine the effects of care setting on persons with Alzheimer’s disease and their spouses.
Funded through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Dr. Sanghavi’s project will assess the influence of pre-hospital care, transport distance, and hospital destination on survival in order to estimate potential gains from an optimal strategy of pre-hospital care and hospital choice among other policy concerns. Both CHAS Fellows were funded for four years of research.
